How Often Should You Post on TikTok

TikTok is now one of the most popular social media platforms. This combined with its newer advertising features, means more businesses are using it as part of their social media marketing strategies. The TikTok algorithm can push your content to local, relevant viewers if you know how to use it correctly. In fact, unlike other platforms, TikTok rewards you for posting frequently. But, how often should you post on TikTok to build a following? Keep reading to find out.

First, how does the algorithm work?

TikTok recommends that you intentionally post new content at least once a day. However, they recommend not posting more than 4 times in a 24-hour period. This allows the algorithm to see your content, and push it to relevant viewers using hashtags and previous activity. The more views each piece of content gets, the more TikTok will push the next piece of content you publish.

So, how often should you post on TikTok?

Ideally, you should aim to publish new content at least once every day on TikTok. This could seem overwhelming, however, it is important to remember that TikTok videos don’t need to be a big production.  TikTok videos can be simple, using trending music or sound to gain attention. Or, they can be miniature ads for your products and brand. You should also consider using A/B testing to find the best times to post. This involves posting similar videos at different times of day, then watching the analytics to see which performs best. You can use the same strategy to test backgrounds or video formats. Knowing when your audience is online, and using TikTok allows you to get the most attention on your content.

What should you post on TikTok?

When it comes to creating content for TikTok, short, relevant videos are key. After all, you want to make sure your target audience is seeing the content. Try using these content creation ideas to generate content for your brand and niche:

Publish valuable content

Providing something useful to your audience is a classic. Consider short tutorials on how to use products, or showing what problems your product solves.

Sneak peeks at future products

Showing a little bit of a new collection, or even the collection using a black-and-white filter is a great way to increase interest in your brand. This is especially beneficial when working with influencers that can help hype up new products.

Join or create a challenge

Joining one of the many social challenges trending on the app is a great way to get on the For You Page. Most of these challenges involve trending music and are easy to take part in.

Share behind the scenes

What goes into creating a product, or shooting images for a collection is interesting to the general public. Thus, you should consider sharing a look into the behind-the-scenes of your business.

Be real

Viewers on TikTok love to see the person or people behind the brand. Make some content showcasing things you or your staff enjoy. This could be food, places, or other products.

Collaborate with influencers

Partnering with influencers can double, or triple your reach. Make sure to do your research and find an influencer in your niche. Then, set up a contract to determine the pay rate, products, and how many posts you expect.

Use trending sounds or songs

Using trending music or sound clips is another great way to be found on TikTok. These clips are often pushed to the For You Page and users often search by trending sound.

By posting relevant, authentic, and trending content on your TikTok you will start to see an increase in viewers. The more viewers you get, the more followers and the higher conversions for your business. Thus, when it comes to how often you should post on TikTok, the minimum is once per day. If you are busy, consider using the creator tools to create, draft, and schedule content. Just remember to log in regularly to respond to comments, and check your analytics.
