Remote work became a norm when the pandemic struck, sending much of the workforce in the United States out of the office. Now, in a post pandemic world, approximately 40% of U.S. employees still work from home at least one day per week. Although these numbers have shrunk since 2020, there are still remote work opportunities and job postings nationwide.

 

The U.S. has remote work more readily available than any other country, benefitting both employers and employees in several ways. Employees can save time, money, and energy when working from home. Remote work eliminates the commute, saves money on food and gas, and allows for less time getting ready. In addition, workers can spend more time with family and friends and enjoy a better work/life balance.

 

There are also many benefits of remote work for employers. Employee absences and sick days are reduced, money is saved on cost per employee, productivity is boosted, and it can even reduce turnover. Many workers value remote work in their lives as it increases flexibility and overall workplace happiness, which benefits everyone involved. 

 

In 2023, almost all people say that they have interest in working remotely in some capacity. In order to honor these interests, it is important to equip companies with the correct tools. Connectivity platforms, accessible tech support, and advanced scheduling software is paramount, ensuring that modern employees are taken care of in a hybrid work model. Maintaining teams remotely is a powerful skill to prepare a business for the demands of the future.
