Search giants are employing artificial intelligence to aid search engines. It’ll analyze users’ previous actions and requests, understand and interpret information more flexibly, and recommend specific results based on their preferences and proprietary algorithms. Panda was Google’s first known global update, eliminating billions of pages with duplicated content from the search results. Then came Penguin, which was penalized for linking to one’s website, labeling it backlink spamming. Following that was Hummingbird, which considered the density of keywords in the text. With the RankBrain algorithm, Google then explicitly stated: create quality content! Subsequently, ranking factors like Web Vitals were considered, experiments with WOT were conducted, and algorithms’ changes, requirements, and principles became less apparent. Most updates were concealed behind generic names like Core Update, Spam Update, Spam Link Update, Predatory Sites Algorithm, etc. Google stopped announcing and detailing updates in new releases for a reason.

If you think about it, it makes sense. If a site is developed without errors, has 100% hosting uptime, and engaging and timely content commented on and read, why would such a site be removed from search or lower its positions? Keyword and link spam will always exist as long as automated link placement tools like Money Robot or GSA SER exist. Promoting your own site using these tools works in less than 10% of cases. More often, these tools are used not for promoting one’s site but for spamming competitors’ sites. Google doesn’t always handle this well.
Thankfully, there is the Disavow tool (and the specialist managing the specific site needs to be attentive). We should also remember content theft, which Google doesn’t always handle on its own. Furthermore, fraudsters often use forms to request the removal of disputed content. Still, these are all external factors. In short, the ideal algorithm for your site is to be a quality product!
